PAT RENNER Pat Renner, a former school librarian and art teacher, has always wanted to paint. Beginning with oils and acrylics, she found her way to watercolor after retirement. “Although everyone thinks watercolor is more difficult, it is really just figuring out techniques with which to approach ideas.” Coastal living, near the Rogue River, provides endless inspiration. Other exciting subjects are figures and flowers. “Style is always in transition.” A member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon and a signature member of the Missouri Watercolor Society, Pat has exhibited in national, regional, and state watercolor shows, receiving numerous awards. She lives in Gold Beach, Oregon.

CHRISTINA OLSEN
The artist, known as “Christina” was born in San Mateo, CA and raised on the coast side without television-but WITH running water and electricity. She always loved a good squishy mess, graduating from mud pies to any artistic expression available. An art teacher aunt bestowed a box of assorted paints and colored wires and types of paper when she was about four-after which, Christina was in constant trouble for making a “horrible mess.” Since then, the artist has become adept at cleaning up after herself. She studied practical disciplines in college and received both degrees in Technical Illustration and Education. She worked in both of these fields. She paints in Watercolor, acrylic, paints ON pottery and still loves mud. |

JM Steele Artist Jeanne Marie Steele paints in a style she calls ‘Impressionistic Luminism’. The Luminist movement of the mid-19th century was focused on the study of light. Atmospheric effects were achieved by careful gradation of tone with no sign of brushwork. Steele seeks to incorporate these atmospheric effects and moody tones along with the lively and fluid brushstrokes inspired by the Impressionists. Born and raised in La Jolla, California, Steele has lived throughout the West and has focused her work on the Western landscape. Steele now resides in Gold Beach, Oregon and continues to travel throughout the mountain states, the desert and the pacific coast. Steele has studied under recognized painters Sebastian Capella, Perrietta Hester and Wolf Kahn. Steele uses numerous layers of paint on canvas and wood panels, enhanced by a high varnish finish which livens the oil’s surface. This format creates a jewel-like quality which she enhances at times with gold leaf applied to the painting surface. Her work evokes a richness reminiscent of an ‘old world’, romantic era. |
